Oregon Coast RV Park Maintenence Host Wanted !

Hello RV friends!

Camp Blanco RV Park (www.campblanco.com), located on the beautiful southern Oregon coast in the small town of Port Orford, is looking for a maintenence host for the spring/summer 2014. We are a smaller, well-rated Good Sam and AAA park on Highway 101 about 60 miles north of the California border. We are looking for the same arrangement we have had the last 2 years. Looking for roughly the months of June, July, and August, but would look at extending that timeframe slightly earlier and/or later.

Duties are simple light maintenence including painting, raking, mowing, landscaping, tree trimming, etc. No heavy work. Work days are very flexible, typically working 3 to 4 days a week. Again, we are very flexible on days and hours worked, and very easy to get along with. We will work with you an a schedule that works well for you and the park both.

We are offering free RV space and all utilities in exchange, the same as our State Parks do. This includes 60+ channels of cable TV and high-speed Internet. *NOTE- we are NOT offering a salary, so if you're looking for income employment this is not for you. This is strictly a "Volunteer" position, again, just like the State Parks do in Oregon. Ideally we are looking for a retired person or couple who wants free lodging and utilities, and likes to keep busy doing something, while living in a beautiful area. Only 1 person will be on duty so a spouse would not be working at the park, but could certainly help if desired.

Camp Blanco is a smaller, very clean and quiet park within walking distance to everything in town, and just 2 minutes to 3 of the most gorgeous beaches in the country. Mild "banana belt" weather makes our area a huge destination for RV'ers from all over the country. We have a great reputation, great reviews, and many yearly repeat guests. Port Orford is the oldest townsite on the Oregon coast, rich in history and preserved with a quaint, small town atmosphere. There are many art galleries, restaurants, shops, a unique no-river-bar open water port with a working commercial fishing fleet, and lots of things to do and see. Please see www.enjoyportorford.com for more info on the area.

We would like at least 2 references, preferably someone you have Workkamped or hosted for before. And we would like info and if possible, a picture of your RV (year, make, model, etc.) Please email us direct at campblanco@yahoo.com for more info, questions, or to send us your info and references. You can also find and LIKE us on FaceBook! Thanks and happy RV'ing to everyone!
  • Port Orford is wonderful. In town you can walk everwhere. So beautiful. We hosted at the Day Use area last month and are now at Cape Blanco. If we were not going back east next month we would check out Camp Blanco. It looks neat and well taken care of. Maybe a job will be open there in a couple years from now. We sure would look into it.
  • If you don't like the position....move on....any more complaints will be deleted.
  • We volunteered at Camp Blanco a few years back and it was a good experience. This is a beautiful part of the country. Port Orford is a nice little laid back town. The park is small so you get to know everyone after a few weeks. Enjoy the Oregon coast.
  • I think as your being a for profit business the IRS might have a problem with your so called Volunteer status. If I figure right it works to to somewhere between $6.50 to 8 bucks and hour.
    Not worth it.
  • Note - "3 to 4 days a week" are not 8 hour days! Again, hours are flexible and usually 20 to 30 hours per week is common. We,ve had a host before that put in 40 hours just because he loved having something to do. Some past hosts have chosen to work 6 hour days for 4 days a week, others have worked 6 hours a day for 5 days, and one worked 8 hours for 3 days. We are not stating any minimum hours required, but approximately 20 is a good starting point. Our hosts work off of a list, and if 4 hours a day get the job done, then thats great! Thanks again.
