Your blog writing and adventures always make me smile.
Memorable hiking moments in my life:
Walking the Uetliberg in Zurich and realising that my then 7 y/o son was developing a bad case of vertigo which I had recently overcome. It was a longggggggggggggg walk down and we ran out of chocolate. Ended any thoughts of alpine hikes.
Flash forward 25 odd years and son's DD is 7 y/o and ignoring my tremulous request to move away from the edge of Gay's Head.
I'm happy to know height concerns have skipped a generation.
Walking along the Rim Trail in Taughannock Park, outside Ithaca. Youngest son in a backpack, oldest holding his father's hand. I can still feel the warmth of the sun from that perfect day and the memories of it have helped my through less idyllic life moments.
