VANILLA STRIPS
Whites of 2 lg. eggs
Powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
Pinch of salt
1/2 lb. ground almonds, unblanched
Beat egg whites until stiff. Add 1/2 pound powdered sugar and beat until peaks form. Add vanilla and salt. Divide into 2 parts. To 1 part add ground almonds. Put powdered sugar on canvas and roll dough with almonds 1/4 inch thick. Cut into 1 inch wide strips and 3 inches long. Spread remaining dough onto these strips. Put on a cookie sheet and bake until light tan. Bake at 300 degrees for about 10 to 15 minutes.
these will make you stab your spouse with a fork if they reach for one of your's - JasseJacksonExplorer
- hokeypokeyExplorerI grew up on home grown goose for Christmas but my kids don’t care for it so we’ve done prime rib.
From here on - it will be 2-3 kinds of soup because we get them married and then they show up whenever. Dessert will never change - rice pudding with an almond hidden in one dish. The “lucky one” gets a small gift (maybe an ornament with the year on it. ).
I bake 3 things, my limit. 2 are old, 1 is something new. Add candies wrapped in red, green, silver - it’s enough.
