I'd like to add to my crockpot recipes. My current favorite is Taco Soup. I use this Paula Deen recipe with a couple of changes. I omit one can of pinto beans and add a can of drained and rinsed black beans. I also omit the cans of diced tomatoes and diced green chilies. In their place I use 2 cans of original Rotel. I usually brown the beef and onions the night before. In the morning all I have to do is dump everything in the crockpot. I love easy and tasty! Do you have a favorite crockpot recipe that you would share?

This is a recipe that I adapted from an old member, Ol'Blue. I love this recipe!Beef Tips and Gravy3 – 5 Lbs. Sirloin or Stew Meat (cut into strips or generous cubes)1 pkg. Dry onion soup mix1 Can Beef Broth1 Tsp Italian SeasoningSalt & Pepper to taste½ Tbsp Minced Garlic2 – Dry pkg. Brown Mushroom Gravy Mix1 – 2 Tsp Kitchen Bouquet Gravy Seasoning½ Cup FlourMix soup mix, Italian seasoning, garlic and beef broth in crock pot. Add meat cubes and cook on low for 6 – 8 hours or on high 5 – 6 hours. During the last half hour, use a large spoon to skim surface fat off of juices. Then ladle off as much juice as possible and mix gravy mixes, flour and Kitchen Bouquet until it is smooth with no lumps. Add back to crock pot and put on high for the last half hour. Serve over a bed of your favorite mashed potatoes.

Try crockpot lasagna. My whole family loves it!Cook your meat (ground beef, sausage or a combo of both) and layer all the ingredients into the crockpot just like you would normally make it in the oven. No need to cook the noodles. I normally use 1 lb. beef, 16 oz. ricotta, 2-3 cups mozzarella, 2 eggs, 2 jars of sauce, and a package of lasagna noodles. I have also used sausage, spinach, etc... The possibilities are endless. Cook on low for 6-8 hours. I have found that I use more sauce in this recipe than I use in my oven recipe. I think it is because as the noodles cook, they soak up the sauce.A few minutes before you want to serve, put a layer of mozzarella cheese on top and leave the cover off to let it melt. Serve with salad and garlic bread. Yum!

Not a recipe, per se, but my favorite thing to cook in the crockpot is pork tenderloin. Always stays so moist and tender. :p

Grinal....What do you do with the 2 eggs?

Hi there....we did the Paula Deen pulled pork crock pot recipe and it was delicious. My hubby started it in the morning and it cooked on low all day....then all you have to do is serve rolls and some sides and there is dinner. Also the crock pot lasagna recipe listed above is a real winner. I just layers the top with extra shredded mozz cheese right before serving....that is my kids favorite part..

I think im gonna give the lasagna recipe a go. Other then the standard pulled pork, wings, chicken/salsa here is another we like sorry for no real measurements I usually just toss a bunch of stuff in and see what come out :)

1 package boneless chicken thighs (I trim about half the fat off)
1-2 cans of diced tomatoes (preference on quantity I like a lot of tomato)
1/2 can of tomato paste
big package of mushrooms sliced
eyeball some crushes red
salt
pepper
and whatever other seasoning I grab out of the cabinet.

usually cooks 6 hours or so on low serve over rice or egg noodles

Mexican Crockpot Chicken - 3-4(or more) boneless chicken breast, 1 can chicken broth, 1 can black beans drained, bag of frozen corn, jar of salsa. I put the chicken breast on the grill for about a min a side. Put everything in a crockpot and cook about 6-8 hrs. Shred the chicken. Serve with tortilla chips or put on a tortilla shell

Super easy and always a crowd pleaser:

CROCK POT ROAST TO DIE FOR:

1 (4 -5 lb) beef roast, any kind (your favorite)
1 (1 1/4 ounce) package brown gravy mix, dry
1 (1 1/4 ounce) package dried Italian salad dressing mix
1 (1 1/4 ounce) package ranch dressing mix, dry
1/2 cup water
(add any veggies you like, potatoes, carrots, onions, etc)

Directions:

1. Place beef roast in crock pot.
2. Mix the dried mixes together in a bowl and sprinkle over the roast.
3. Pour the water around the roast.
4. Cook on low for 7-9 hours.

I don't have a favorite dressing, I think any will work. Also, forgot to mention that you serve the chicken over rice or noodles.

That sounds good Steve, I think chicken and crockpots go together like pigs and smoke. I know French dressing has a tendency to vary, so do you have one that you stick with?

This one came from this website some years ago. I use it every year when I camp as it is tasty and easy. I use:

4 chicken thighs
1 bottle French dressing
"handful" of brown sugar

Place thighs in crockpot, cover with dressing, throw sugar on top. Cook till tender, 4 - 5 hours or one good hike.
