Maybe you, but there are a lot of us that use the oven regularly with great success. The key as has been said countless times before is to get and use a pizza stone or unglazed floor tiles. The key is mass to help regulate the temp.
I agree with everything you said.
We use a pizza stone and an oven thermometer, and found ours is surprisingly fairly accurate, considering what it is.
