I had to go up from underneath. If it only leaks when you overfill it I would consider leaving it alone. In my case I ended up taking down most of the underbelly. I had water dripping by the low point drains towards the front of my trailer. Eventually I found 3 leaks, all of which were towards the back. Before you start cutting, keep in mind that you will have to patch any openings you make. You might want to try contacting a dealer and talking to a mechanic to see if they have any advice.
