I think some people who don't get around much overseas havn't had the opportunity to see how many great vehicles there are out there all over the world.
As for cost or the fact that you'd have to be rich to do this is fallacy. Most of the people I have met both here in the US, Mexico, Asia and Africa doing this are just like you and me. Most of the vehicles they drive are used. Many are small...like the Toyota I pictured and many are on Motorcycles.
No this is not some far off dream. It's just that some lack imagination and the exposure to the world to see what is being done by many thousands of folks and what they themselves could do.

The only real difference between Us (those not doing it) and Those that are Overlanding is our priorities.
Basically if you have the money to be retired and full time (like me) and you own a big new truck and a trailer then you certainly have enough money to Overland if you wanted to.
