I don't really have any opinion, pro or con, about the Overlanders. They can do their thing and I wish them the best, but it's not anything that interests me. I've been to quite a few places outside of the US (Italy, several Caribbean islands, 3 countries in Central America, the Philippines), enough to know that I'm happiest right here at home.
I don't feel that I've seen nearly enough of the US (still 17 states where I've never even driven through), so that is going to be my main focus for most of the rest of my life. My wife and I do have a plan to go to Norway for our 25th anniversary, but otherwise we will be traveling in the good old US of A.
