And, since you have now posted your rules on what overlanding is, who made you the one to decide. I know people who have hitchhiked, hiked, biked, and driven across the Americas. How are their travels any different than the person in a beat up van/RV? They are doing exactly what you claim the overlanders are doing - just not in an RV.

They are not "My" Rules. This is how the Overlanders, the community of those who do this, define it for themselves. Perhaps if you would stretch out of your echo chamber and read something about it you might realize the differences that seem to elude you.
I am not the originator of the term nor am I the definer. I am just passing along information that is out there and that I share an interest in and have for many years. Much longer than I have been Rv'ing.
