What's amusing to me is that you seem think we should all be embracing a mode of travel that's primarily only available to the very wealthy. For the average American family making just a bit north of $50K/year, "overlanding" is just something to perhaps find interesting or dream about, but well out of reach for most of us. If you want to overland from continent to continent and can afford it, go for it. Just don't expect to see a line of us following you.
