In fact I do and that is why you don’t overdrive you line of vision… I drove many different vehicles of every shape, size, and weight, driving style and following distances was different for each… its equivalent to adjusting to the different weather conditions…
The obstruction very well could be a stupid driver stopped for no reason, or stopped to make a left turn when clear to do so, but it could be a school bus letting kids off or on the bus, or a broken down vehicle, and often around here a black horse and buggy at dusk…
But the idiot is the driver that isn’t capable or recognizing the closing speed and to adjust for it… if your depth perception is so poor or you don’t have the ability and aptitude to drive looking far enough ahead to avoid hitting an object you are an impaired driver and should consider just being a passenger… you would also be responsible for running into the object
the brake lights like the turn signal are safety features that make life easier, but when lit only prove one thing, the bulb is working…
