Are you saying that the truck/trailer was NOT stopped in the lane of travel when struck? That's the only question I asked in the O.P., and only based on what I could see of the orange paint markers on the pavement.
Where any controversy started about ticketing the Subaru I don't know. It certainly didn't start with me.
You are putting a lot of emphasis on the orange paint. You do realize that the paint is marking the FRP, Final Resting Place, and in no way indicates where the vehicles were before impact?
I'm getting ready to go camping now but when I get back next week and if this thread is not closed I will run by the SO and get a copy of the crash report.
However if I quote directly from the report I bet there will still be some to argue with the facts!!!!
