So far, I've emailed my Congressional Representative, political parties (both State and National) and plan to write a few more today. I suggested that if they can't pass laws that make our country run better, they should think about resigning. I also mentioned that this shutdown would not be forgotten on election day. I'm just hoping that any future spin on this fiasco will turn out worse than the recent events.
I don't see any point on placing blame on Park Staff. They are being directed by management on how to operate during this shutdown. Yes, some are sure to have some personality disorders and act inappropriately and yes, methods used are going to be confrontational.
As far as refusing vets admittance, I read that a WWII vet said, "Normandy Beach was closed, too, but we got in there". I hope they can muster the same courage to visit the monuments.
