Parking the RV?

I may soon be moving and loosing the ability to park my 28ft 5er in my driveway at home. There must be others who have to park between trips at a location other than home. What are some solutions that have worked for others? Thanks.
  • Think about the benefits of not having it in your yard... its harder for thieves and other miscreants to realize you are gone on vacation. We park ours in the backyard. When the truck and trailer aren't in the yard, its fairly obvious to anyone that pays attention. Thankfully we live in a good neighborhood and have a lot of retiree's that live around us and are good about keeping an eye out on the house while we are gone.

My friend can't park his at his house (HOA regulations), so he parks it at another friends house who has a huge yard. Its a LOT harder for someone to realize that he is gone on vacation.

    This is far from impossible!
We don't even have a way to bring it home to pack. This is not an issue as we Have always kept the rig ready to go. Loaded wit a weeks worth of cloths both summer and winter. We keep it stocked with non pershabe food, and fill the propane on return. To leave we have a food tote empty the home refer and freezer, load the the 5ers refer, and hit the road.
We have a good storage yard about four miles from our house. I do normal maintenance at the yard. It is all about loading on return instead of doing just before leaving.
  • Our community, 55+ of "Active Adults" has two fenced secure lots of RV storage on site. We pay $35 a month for a 40' slot that is 2 miles from our home. My neighbor on the west side is 42' Tiffin Class A and to the east is a nice new fiver and they keep our little 24' C in the valley of the shade. :C
  • Funny. We have to keep our RV at storage; we pay for covered which we hardly use because we are gone all the time in the camper. One of the reasons we are considering relocating is to be able to park the camper at our own place. We will build it a shed.
  • I ran an ad in a small farm community newspaper and found a guy with more than ample pole barn space to rent out very very reasonably, including power
  • Check with storage yards and RV dealers in your area to see if they offer RV storage. Some campgrounds/RV parks also offer storage options.
