passing signal
I understand that in Mexico the truckers turn on their left signal to let you know that it is safe to pass. We in the US. ought to start doing that.

Many people down here (especially this time of year) just stop and then put the signal on. If you see someone driving with a turn signal on for more than about 5 seconds, there is a good chance that they forgot it was on.
My son is taking drivers ed and now driving with me. I tell him you use the blinker to let those know what you intend to do, not what you did. Seems common around here to see the blinker go on half way through the turn.
