I fulltime, pull a fiver, and don't mess with truck stops. I decided long ago that I didn't want to walk around in all the fuel that gets spilled on the ground, didn't want to use those high volume nozzles, and didn't want to make multiple trips in and out just to pay. And Loves/Flying J are usually the most expensive places around.
I added a 40 gallon auxiliary tank to go with the OEM 37 gallon tank. I usually fill up after reaching my destination and dropping the fiver. I just use the Gasbuddy app and go to the cheapest local place. Normally, I don't need to tap the aux tank but I like that it's available. Peace-of-mind. I can use the OEM tank down below the 1/4 mark without stopping for fuel if I want to, which I would never do if it was my only tank.
This arrangement has worked just dandy for the 2 years I've been using it.

I hate truck stops, I'm always pick up diesel fuel on my shoes and hands, pay more than at private gas stations, and play the "pay inside dance".
