Contrary to what the majority opinion seems to be, I see nothing wrong with reserving 2 spaces. If the CG is too full to allow 2 reservations, then you can't make 2 reservations...simple as that. If one is willing to pay for 2 spots, then why can't they leave it empty?
As to the allegations of snobbery, it seems to me that cuts both ways: If a person wants to camp wherever they want, whenever they want, and feels that they're entitled to a spot (even if someone else is willing to pay for it to keep it empty) then they need to consider a cabin in the woods just as much as the person who wants to have some degree of privacy and is willing to pay the fees for an extra site to get that privacy.
Similarly if reserving two spots is depriving someone of the "opportunity" to camp, then that person needs to get a cabin in the woods so that they'll always have an opportunity....or they could just chose a different campground.
