Pesky Drip
I have a pesky drip in my basement, it is coming from the black item in the picture below. I gave it a 1/8 turn and it has mostly stopped, however, would like to replace it...maybe something non plas...

Look closely on black fitting---any directional arrows---indicating it is a 'check valve' which allows water to flow in only one direction.
Again.....what is piping coming from/to?? Water heater? Faucets? ????
All the piping is around the water heater. I can take another picture when I get home of the rest of the setup. It looks like the black item is on a loop by itself. I initially thought a one way check valve, but will verify a possible arrow this afternoon. Thanks.
