Roy,
I have the sway pro and a similar situation as yours. My dealer was not at all helpful with the WDH set up and I had to scramble to get it right. I found the Blue Ox reps to be very helpful and interested in getting me setup with optimal towing. I have 3 & 1/2 links showing below the cam when empty and it pulls great. They say that if the chains are too tight that you will know because the ride will be awful. That bar should have 2-3 inches of bend in it. With out that pressure it will not be doing the best job it can for you. Two other things, did you level the trailer and set the ball height on the receiver 1-2" higher than where the top of the ball would be if it where in the coupler on the trailer when level IAW Blue Ox's instruction?
Also according to Blue Ox on my F150 I'm supposed to turn the trucks trailer sway control off when towing. It's not written in their instructions and it does not apply to everyone. I have 400 miles towed on mine and i really like, very stable, very quiet and you can backup anytime without disconnecting anything.
