Pilot/Flying J loyalty card...Again

Just got off the phone with PFJ customer service and can't get a straight answer. Curious if anyone else knows.
To start off, I am talking about the MyRewards or Frequent Fueler Advantage Program; NOT the RVPlus credit card.

I noticed that while my PFJ loyalty card is still providing me discounts at the pump, it no longer works for any in store purchases or at the restaurants. When I asked Customer Service they said they did away with the RV program "a couple years ago" and they don't know why the card still works. However, when you go to the MyRewards website there is still references to RV card holders all over it. And the PFJ app still has a section for RVers. I when I log into my account it still lists the services and discounts available. So I am confused.

Anyone have additional information.
  • same here. my guess is the website hasn't been updated since the merger. I still have our loyalty card and while it works for gas it doesn't work for anything purchased in the store. the RVPLus Card has a deeper per gallon discount anyway.
  • WE now have a Pilot Credit card and it gives us 6 cents a gallon off from gas and works for everything in the store. The old Flying J rewards card we had stopped working after the merger.
  • I still have the old RealValue card. It still works but I was told long ago that they will eventually cut it off. They did stop giving them out a couple years ago.

My RealValue card together with a cash back credit card gives a much better deal than the GS credit card.
  • The discount card just knocks the price down to the same as the independent station down the street. I use FJ because they are a known quantity -- I know I can maneuver my rig in and out. The smaller stations maybe or maybe not.

I hear that a lot but at least in my area NY/PA that has not been the case. PFJ are very competitive and often cheapest before any discount.

Thanks everyone for their replies. I should have also added that while I also have the RVPlus credit card I like to pay cash whenever possible. I also don't currently belong to GS or have their Swipe & Save card. Hence the loyalty card. Since between work and play I stop at the PFJ quite a bit, not having the in store perks bugs me.
  • Anyone ever use the "Professional Driver" loyalty cards from either PFJ or the TA/Petro, Love's etc. Seems like there may be some benefit to it but wouldn't want to be dishonest either.
