I have been using my Pilotflyingj rv plus card on a 2500 mile trip we just completed. The first time I fueled I looked at my receipt and it showed the cash price as my discount for diesel off the credit card price. I brought it up to the manager that I was to get .06 cents off the cash price. They said I did get the correct discount. I called their 1-800 number and the lady said they were wrong. She asked for how many gallons I bought and gave me credit. I was also told by managers I had to go into the store to get the added discount because the rv lane reader does not pick up on the code in the back. I will be calling the 1-800 number on Monday and see why so many of the store managers do not know how their own card works. I even had one cashier tell me she had to hold onto the card because it was a credit card. I know other cards give a better discount but I prefer not to have them. I was wondering if any one else has noticed this on their receipt.

I've had the same problem in the past. Some stations don't know how the card works. We called the 1-800 number and they correct our bill with the discount that should have been applied. That's the only way we could get around it.

so I am wondering why you even use it then if it is now good at the station.

The card is accepted at all PilotFlyingJ for diesel. Some pilots are not owned by pilot but since they get their diesel from pilot we get the .06 cent discount. Those stations do not honor the rv plus card for gas since they do not get the gas from the corporate pilot. The problem comes in at the pumps because they do not see the code on the back that is required to get the .06 off the cash price. I like the card because I do not have to carry a lot of cash and get a total of .12 off the credit card price.

We stopped in Knoxville at a Pilot station (Pilot headquarters is in Knoxville) and the manager didn't know about the card! We called and got our discount and they said they will inform the manager at the station. Great service on the back end. Not so much on the front end. If we fuel in the "truck diesel" lanes we have to go inside to them to start the pump and tell them about how much fuel we will purchase (lots doesn't work LOL), go back outside and fuel up, go back inside to get the receipt. We did stop at one location that had 3 RV lanes marked in the truck lane area where the pumps were programmed to read the RV Plus card. yeah!! All the stations need that feature. Lots more work needed on this program.

I have used the card at the truck pumps for almost two years that included an 11K mile/3 month trip and have never failed to get 6 cent off the cash price and have never had to go inside. Only issue I have is I almost never get a receipt at the pump. Just my 2 cent.

They can pull up the transaction. If you can tell them the date, time, card number and pump you used. It can researched. Have done it at a burger joint before. They just not want to.

I have the card with the 2500 limit. I get a receipt wherever I use the card so that if I do have a problem with billing I can show them. To many times I have had a problem and everyone has asked for a copy of the receipt. When I tell them I cannot find the receipt they always say sorry, without the receipt we cannot help you.

There are different levels of cards. The original were just a Value card and still required payment via a reg credit card. The newer cards are a credit card of sorts and depending on how you set it up changes the discounts and limits. Our is tied into a travel checking account (used for our travels) so we have a $2000 or $2500 limit, get 8 cents off the cash price, starts the truck pump, but yes no receipt unless you want to go inside, I keep track of stops and price and compare to the bill when received, so upon completion of fueling, hang up the handle and we're on our way.

It does sound like it might be my card from what everyone is saying. I will be calling them Monday to see what they say and to see about a new card. The sad part is each station told me something different.

we were among the first to apply for Flying J RV Plus Charge ... very early on we did hit a few stations where their computer equipment wasn't setup for it .... on one occasion the discount on propane wasn't credited, a call to customer service corrected that without any problem .... during the last couple of years it has (without exception)worked flawlessly during multiple trips that have taken us all over the eastern 2/3 of the country .... as life members we get 8 cents off of the price of diesel which is shown at the pump .... the card has worked at both Flying J RV and big truck lanes; as well as, Pilot big truck lanes

Koda55, maybe it's your card. Have them replace it. I can't imagine that the 7 places you chose to use, hat all of them did that. The rvpluscard has been out for a while now. All places (just about) should be using it.

I used the Pilot in St Marys, Ga at XT 1 on I95 in the the trucker lanes and had to go inside to start the pump and then pay. Even their machine did not pick up the extra .06 cents. On the way home I stopped at the Flying J in Brunswick, Ga XT 29 I95 and used the rv lanes. Swiped my card and after filling, all it showed was the cash price. I went inside and they said I was charged the cash price. They just gave me the difference in cash. As I had mentioned this happened at all 7 fuel stops that I made. I posted this to make everyone aware to check their receipts to ensure they are getting the proper discounts. I also like the idea that I can just swipe my card, fill up. and go. I was told that the pumps are not seeing the code on the back to get the extra discount.
