After one winter when the pink stuff was defective and turned into a globby gelatin like muck in my water lines, I quit using it and just blow everything out now. I have not had any problem doing it that way and I don't have to put up with the foamy water issue that always seems to follow using that stuff.
I do put some AF in all the traps though.
