As traveling full-timers we had to stay somewhere but we always chose places away from water (rivers, lakes, pools). By doing this we had many nice quiet 4ths. We feel folks have a different mental attitude on the 3-day holidays. Best to stay away.
Our very best one was spent while boondocking near Silverton, Colorado. They have a very fun parade and awesome fireworks.
Normally we don't do parades but this year we were rooked into being on a Pickleball float. We'll be tossing balls to the kids. But going home before the fireworks.
