- SteeljagExplorerYes Florida weather is terrible/ dangerous.....and snakes....big snakes....alligators.....sharks........big foot.......Tornados......Hurricanes......old people........Bears........Wolves........jellyfish.......Hugh biting bugs.......Kids everywhere.......Sink holes......Earth quakes........Vampires (media trying to keep the lid on that)......it's best just to stay home......spread the word!
- Bears_DenExplorerI just wish more people did hate Florida, especially in the winter , be easier to get a campsite and wouldn't have to pay snowbird prices. Whereever you are this winter have a safe one and Merry Christmas to all.
- John_JoeyExplorerSevere weather, including a possible tornado, caused “major damage” to several homes and brought down power lines in Palm Coast, Florida, late Saturday, officials said.
One resident reportedly witnessed the roof being ripped from his home, according to Cindy Lane, spokeswoman for the City of Palm Coast.
A tornado warning was issued, but there were no reports of injuries.
More than two thousand homes were still without power as of 11pET.
The National Weather Service has informed the town that they are sending two meteorologists to the scene Sunday to confirm the touchdown of a tornado.
Six or seven homes sustained "major damage" in the severe storm, which struck at about 7 p.m. ET Saturday, Lane said. - DSteiner51ExplorerFlorida: Land of the newly weds and nearly deads. I think I'll pass on both counts. I get to Florida every winter for several days and hear more people b!tch about the weather then I do up here. Walk the beaches when the temps are in the 50's and those who are brave enough to brave the temps are bundled up more then I am when out in single digit numbers with the wind blowing.
- RVUSAExplorerIt was 84 today.
Probably rain tomorrow followed by a cool spell. The warm is starting to slip away. - rockhillmanorExplorer II

I love Florida! We have visited for varying lengths of time every winter since 1987.....
Yup I visited it several times and thought it was SO great not to have snow and below zero temps........so much I finally bought a house here last year....the humidity, mold, and unbearable heat for over 5 months does leave a bit to be desired. And the amount of heinous crime, daily hit and run deaths and daily bank heists, that they seem to not even bother investigating any of them and they go on unsolved and continue daily. THAT I find real disturbing.:(
But then, I remember trying to cram in all the fun you could during the whole whopping 60 days of summer weather up north and I guess I don't mind the fact that I have to keep the house and cars locked up tight as a drum and maggie by the door at all times living here in warm Florida.
Yup, it's a give and take any way you look at any relocation! :B - wa8yxmExplorer III

Of course Michigan is wonderful the other 3 seasons.
Happy trails,
Michigan is a wonderful state all 4 seasons.. however NOT for my motor home.. Thus, I practice as you do... But I actually like Michigan winters so long as I do not have to shovel snow and chip ice. I mean there is something about a moonlit walk past (or in) a park covered by new fallen snow that I just can not describe, It is almost a religious expereience.
or sunrise past the same park after a freezing rain.
NOTE the key word WALK in that paragraph though.. DRIVE, not so nice after a freezing rain. But it is beautiful and I've had the pleasure several times.
That said.
I also like the fact that the snow they are getting this week fell here as RAIN and ran off to the lake where it will not be a problem, in fact it can light up my life The lake is man made, the dam is hydro-electric) - JarlaxleExplorer II

Death Valley, and New Orleans are lower. Florida is tied with 22 other states at 0 feet.
Britton Hill is Florida's high point at 345'.
Mt. Everest at Disney World is just under 200'
Florida ranks No.1 in average temp. at 70.7.
It's 73 today in Tucson. :)
I probably didn't say it right, but what I meant was that Florida's highest point is the lowest of the all the state's highest points. Either way, it isn't very high. We almost froze to death today. It was like 47 this morning. It is supposed to be in the 30's in the morning. I may just have to call in cold to work...:E
Dude, 47 is motorcycle weather. Might need to wear long sleeves under the jacket...but still wouldn't close the vents on my helmet. :) - JarlaxleExplorer II

Personally. I like living where we have different seasons.
I have that! I have: too cold, too hot, too wet, and road construction. - JarlaxleExplorer II

I don't hate Florida. It's in the low 20's here and won't get much warmer today.
I do envy the people that live in Florida. :)
Someone posted this on one of the other forums. I guess the natives are restless in all the other states! :B
.....and I am sitting all warm in toasty right smack in the middle of that state!
The outer banks of NC look nice...so does the gulf coast.
