Ok I will be the devils advocate here. The items you gave are excuses not reasons for not making that Alaskan trip or any other, but before I raise any hackles I will add that I fight the same issue with my wife about extended trips, including Alaska. She has the same rationale for not wanting to leave home, birthdays, illness, celebration etc. etc., but guess what those events are going to happen whether you are there or not. What is frustrating is that she does love to travel in the MH! When she retires next year that MH is headed to Alaska one way or the other.
