GM still makes the cars on the same production line with the exact same parts. Mostly you are buying a different name badge.
Here's the big difference:
GM builds around 50,000 1/2 ton pickups per month.
You will be hard pressed to find an RV model that puts out 500 per month.
Net result is they can put a lot more time into quality control and automation as the per unit cost is still far lower.
Plus, your average 1/2 ton pickup (`$50k) costs more than double you average travel trailer ($20-25k).
