portable grill ( Soution found)

Is there a brand of portable gas grill that will work with the built in gas tank on an RV?
This tank has its own regulator which renders my grill worthless as it has its own dedicated regulator . Long story short I’m regulating my grill twice which just will not work. Any suggestions would be appreciated .

We use an 4 port Brass T to allow us to connect either an external propane tank or connect a gas grill to the RV propane supply. Works great for when we stay out in the cold during winter for long periods (external propane tank) as well as connecting our gas grill using its regulator.

This is the same way I use our Weber Q2000.
  • My grill has a connector for a 20# bottle. I unscrewed the line with the regulator on it and my local propane dealer sold me a hose that screwed on its place without a regulator and the other end was low pressure quick connect to fit RV. If I recall it was about $15 for a 12' hose.
  • Since most folks just turn the grill up high and start cooking, you can remove the grill regulator and make a new connection that will allow you to use the low pressure side of your on-board LP tank. If you want to use the grill as built there are adapters that will allow you to put a connection between the tank and the regulator and you can run a high pressure line from there to where the grill is located.
  • BigW,
Do a search on here. I believe you may be able to use your current grill by removing its regulator and attaching it to your B tank via a hose.
We use a Weber Q. I believe they can be adapted to the RV's tank... for some reason we are still using the 1lb bottles!!

  • Yah, hard to find a "low pressure Grill" to work with the Camper's Low Pressure outlet, mine at the end.

Only way I know was you have to "Micky Mouse" lines/connections and then regulate it with the Camper's valve... I gave up trying to find one that might work..

    Good luck..
  • The on board port is low pressure. The only grill that used to be made for it was junk. Most of them ended up in the scrap heap. Unless you have a really long hose you will wind up with grease spatter all over your RV. Most find it more convient to set their grill on the table away from the RV.

Would prefer to use the equipment on the rv if possible as # 1 I paid for it and #2 it is way more convenient and doesn’t take up space in my B.Van which I don’t have.
