+1 on the weight aspect. My 3000 watt Yammy is a two man operation to sling into and out of a pickup truck. The 2000 watt units do give more flexibility.
As for other brands, I think Generac doesn't have any inverter models. Neither does Briggs & Stratton. Which means that they will be very loud, even inside the RV. No-name models might be about 5-10% cheaper than a Champion... but when they break, good luck finding parts. Parts availability is a big thing, and Yamaha has decent availability (expensive shipping from online shops... but you can get what you need), and Honda parts are very easily obtained. I've not seen much on obtaining parts for Champion models outside of calling Champion themselves, but that shouldn't too big an issue.
