Our cable company charges a minimum vacation hold fee and then a fee to reinstate. So you have to call them and see if it's worth it. We do all the things already stated. Also, disconnect car battery. We leave a shoplight under the hood on a timer because we have rodent problems. Leave a lamp or two on timers inside the house so it looks like it's not vacant. If you don't want to put your bills on autopay, you can always just pre-pay them with amounts that you know will cover them. (May end up with credit on account when you return.)
