westend - I talked to one of my neighbors who has a gauge, but no regulator. His gauge says a solid 80 pounds, His rig is a HR presidential series so the quality is a little above my unit. They told him it would handle 100 pounds, but above 110 pounds things could get ugly in a hurry. Well, his shower sprung a leak behind the wall and it is in the shower itself (replacement parts on order). I am thinking that 60 pounds might be a better number to stay with long term.
Yeah, all plumbing is not the same. I should have stated that I have all new PEX and have the older pressure tank system. Both afford me more latitude for the incoming pressure.
I know some RV's come with a warning sticker for maximum inlet pressure but if lacking that. 40 psi->60 psi would be where I would be aiming. I ran my home well system at 45 psi for years but sucumbed to family member's need for more pressure when showering and raised it to 65 psi. The house system is totally different plumbing than the RV systems but illustrates that 45 psi is sufficient.
