Prevent tree sap from getting on fiberglass rv roof

The last couple of years I have camp hosted in Grand Teton National Park.  I park for about 5-6 months.  I have a class A motorhome with a fiberglass roof.  The cottonwood trees produce a sap that is...

Why not just throw a tarp on it, just big enough to cover the roof only, with a few bungee cords; and remove it when it’s time to leave?
