The refer in a rig across from me on electric caught fire so that will not solve the problem. Even though I now have a Amish cooling unit in mine, I left the auto fire system, a smoke alarm, and even Revision E of the NoCold bandaid (which I know how to bypass when it fails). I recently installed a ARP controller for added protection. I would spend the $100 on the ARP and a smoke alarm.
Those that say it's not a problem have not seen all of the burnt rigs in the salvage yards I visit. I can tell a burnt 1200 from 150' away by the cooling fin layout.
I wonder where this fire started?
