As always, I'm puzzled by why the question is asked. Figure out what you're willing to pay for an RV...not what it might sell for or what the dealer wants or what the last customer paid...determine how much of YOUR money you'd be willing to trade for the RV.
Then negotiate up to that price and if you can't get them to sell for that price, then the "market" of a willing buyer and a willing seller doesn't exist.
Maybe in this case, you'd be willing to pay $30,000...once you know that, then you can determine how much time to spend negotiating: in 5 minutes you can make an offer of $30,000 and have it either accepted or you walk. Alternatively, if you enjoy the game, make a much lower offer and haggle 'til the cows come home.
Up to you, not others.
I asked the question because I wanted input into the whacky pricing variability from different sources.
Obviously I will set a budget. But if my budget is $30K... do I even bother to read the ads for RVs listed at $40-$50K??? Or should I be seriously interested in those RVs, because they might REALLY sell for 50-60% of the advertised price?
Is it NORMAL for RV dealers to list prices so far from the prices found from other sources?
