Is it NORMAL for RV dealers to list prices so far from the prices found from other sources?
Yes. As was mentioned, they start high and break off the high mark so the buyer thinks he is getting a deal.
I don't know if this formula works for RV's but couldn't hurt to try--When buying used vehicles, I would typically offer 80% of the loan value. I have never paid more than the loan value for a used car or truck.
