I don't agree that this was a 'scam'.
But, due diligence, as opposed to malignant paranoia, is always in order.
The "Nairobi princes" just keep playing the game of numbers because, unbelievably, it WORKS. There is that percentage of people who will believe anything if persuaded well, and a tiny percentage is all that's required to make a handsome living at the keyboard.
