I agree. However, after several months, the title is long overdue.

If no processing of the title is found at the local licensing Dept., I would follow up taking jkwilson's advice and follow the link he posted.

If this is a travel trailer or fifth-wheel, she paid cash.... AND dealer will not reply to her calls, IMO, she needs to contact the Department of Motor Vehicles for her home state. Most towns have a local office. That will get the dealers attention. Let the DMV get to the bottom of it.

Not to be unsympathetic but she paid cash and did not leave with the hot little title in her hand? Like she trusted a 'stealer'? By now she's realizing that having the title in hand is as important or maybe more important than having the trailer in her drive. Think it is now well past time for her to hire an attorney. Not something she should be playing telephone tag with.

Do you have the whole story? Has the dealer submitted the old title to her state DMV and is waiting for the DMV to mail it to her? Has the dealer been asked to show evidence that they submitted the title to the DMV. Has anyone spoken with either her state or the dealer's state AG office that regulates 'stealers?'

What type trailer? Was it a utility type trailer, if so, a title might not be given. Here in Florida, a light weight trailer is usually delivered with an MSO (Manufacturer Statement of Origin) and no title.
