The key to buying a new trailer, or vehicle is to know as much or more about the product BEFORE you walk into the show room. Doing your research beforehand puts you in command of the process.
X2! And this goes for cars as well.
I'll also say that the best sales people I have dealt with are the ones who hand you the keys and walk away while you look. They are also the first ones to admit when they don't know something about a product and have to go ask someone else. No shame in that and far better than making something up.
One "tell" that I always walk away from is when they call me "buddy" or make up a nick name to call me based on my first name. Nether professional nor genuine. You are not my "buddy" because I walked on your company's lot. Years ago I had a couple of deals go sour looking at cars and trying to deal with chumps like that. Never again.
