After reading these posts I am amazed that all these customers are the best negotiators and always get the best deals. I just cannot figure where they find these salesman that put up with the attitudes and verbage they come to the dealership with.
I was thinking the exact same thing, honestly. I really think the worlds best negotiators are here amongst us. Donald Trump has nothing on some of you guys. I know I am NOT one of them...I think I do a fair job, not perfect, but I am usually able to strike a deal that ends up reasonable for both. I probably don't get the bottom line, best out the door price, but I don't feel like I get screwed either.. So, win-win I reckon.
I try not to quibble over a couple of hundred bucks one way or the other. In my earlier post I mentioned how salesman have to put up with BS, and lies etc from potential buyers, just like some buyers have to put up with BS and lies from some sales people. Im all about getting a reasonable price, but Im personally not about stringing the either the salesman or the dealership on for six months to save a couple hundred bucks. I would rather spend that time enjoying camping.
Buying my first trailer in 30 years did take me about 10 months, but the vast majority of that time was spent researching and deciding what I wanted, not focused on price. Once I narrowed it down, and I was ready to move forward, it took about 2 months to find my deal and close it. I got a fair deal, at a fair price, and I was happy. Established a relationship that I think will do me well in the future.
