Wow, today did not go well. After 2 days listening to ra-ra on the phone about how superior this particular brand rides over the competition, quiet, stable, "once I try it I won't even look at the others", wife and I jumped on a plane yesterday to see for ourselves. Over the phone, we were within about 10k of a deal, but not settled. Arrived at the #1 MH dealer in the World this morning to see this 2013 with 30,000 miles. It looked OK, I said "let's get this on the road and you show me how quiet this thing is". Total cold shoulder and not going to happen until that $10k gap is closed and ink on the paper, then we can drive with satisfaction being a contingent of closing.
Wife and I just kind of stood their stunned (not sure how he could doubt we were serious after flying into Texas the night before with the sole purpose of taking that coach home). He stoodfast, no papers, no test drive. I may have understood for a new one, but this was a trade in with high miles and no warranty..... and I guess I was supposed to just trust him that it was everything he said it was, NOT.
My wife thought it odd he also made it clear he was Republican and we were probably Hillary loving Coloradoans. I took it as a joke, but she said we are very much not welcome here and we need to buy at home. We fly out tomorrow
