1968 Mooney falls back on that tried and true, tired old Sales persons justification that if they cant make a sale then the person was just a looky-loo or not really serious.
Its Fallacy, it's justification for bad business practices and bad salesmanship.
Most people who walk out of one dealer, buy a car at another. Where they feel respected and treated fairly.
The trouble with the side conversation between Old Biscuit and Mooney is that neither are right. Both are dealing in stereotypes and calling names. The fact is Many dealers HAVE reformed and changed their tactics. But this gets little attention.
Still the Buyer is in control. But the dealers NEVER want you to understand this. And if you play THEIR game instead of your own you will come away frustrated and unhappy many times.
Make them play YOUR game. Have your money and financing set before you walk in the door Or know that you can call your bank in front of them and get a loan approval. Cash smells the same to everyone...it's like heroin. And the dealers are no different.
Unfortunately most people just give in to the easy way out. Thus the 1968Mooneys of the world and their attitude.
