We've had a couple negative RV sales experiences. The first was when we drove five hours to a Camping World. (I know, big mistake). We had looked on their website and found a used fiver with two easy chairs instead of one of the couches, just like we wanted. Obviously put in there by the previous owner. We had done lots of research on that particular model and were well prepared to purchase that particular rig. When we arrived we were met by a salesman who took us to the rig. They had replaced the easy chairs with another couch that didn't match the decor. The salesman didn't know anything about it. Upon further inspection, the rig was filthy. Carpets were dirty, vents filled with trash, and mouse turds in every drawer. We finally talked them into putting the easy chairs back, but they wouldn't budge on the price. Then to top it all off, they wanted to charge us $350 to clean it. So we walked. About 30 minutes later, our daughter called wondering why Camping World was calling the home phone. (We had given them the number earlier). So we called them back and they still wouldn't budge. So we politely said don't call us, we'll call you.
The other one was when we were at another Camping World during the winter. All the salesmen were busy so we decided to walk out and look for ourselves. Then a salesman drove up in his POV, rolled the passenger window down and spoke to us between puffs of his cigarette. He had the fan up so high on his heater I could barely understand him. Didn't even have the courtesy to get out of his car or put out the cigarette. We said we're just looking and he drove off. Didn't buy a fiver there either.
