I had Progressive also, before I figured out the correct terms to get USAA insurance...
Cale, what terms? I've been a member since '62 and they sent me to Progressive for the RV...said they don't cover them. Thanks!
After being on the east coast most of my career (I was in Virginia when I fought with Progressive), I have always asked for RV insurance. It wasn't until we moved to California that it dawned on me that I had be screwing it up. California doesn't require separate insurance cards for your trailer, it falls onto your tow vehicle policy. So we moved here and Progressive said that they would have to insure my truck, I told them they were out of the minds. I called USAA and they said that the truck and trailer to together and USAA would insure it. They also told me that I need to let the agent know I have a travel trailer or 5th wheel, do not say RV at all... If I say RV, they see that as a Class A, B, or C. So, in VA they don't do RVs, but they do travel trailers. So I have been told, I have anther year before we get out of CA to find out.
With all that being said, there are probably a few places they actually don't insure a trailer. They are the same with motorcycles. Only 5 or 6 states and overseas.
