Propane Cover Lid Screws

We've lost one of the screws that keep the propane cover lid down. Anyone know if we can order one? I stopped at the local RV place and wanted to sell me a lid cover for $13. Thank you

  • Buy the new cover that way you will have a extra screw and a new cover when your old one blows away...
  • Thanks everyone. I went to Menards last night and got a wing nut screw and nut. I think this will work
  • The tanks of my old trailer had two plastic halves held together by plastic screws/nuts, they seemed to be the size of license plate bolts. I hot lazy and used a zip tie just large enough to go through the hole and pulled it tight, The zip ties lasted several years, longer than the bolts.
  • I get it now- it's one of those new types with the valve access doors, right? From what I've read, they started offering the replacement doors because folks were losing them a lot...probably because of the screws!

Unless it's super-specialized, my best advice is to take the screw you have left to a real hardware store that has drawers full of fasteners and see if the guys there can help you out. My local True Value is really great that way.
  • We have the tongue mounted bottles and a hard plastic cover, theres a lid on top that has two screws/with black caps - its a flap lid and these screws hold the lid down.
  • Not sure what you mean by "screw for lid cover", and no info per your Rv in your profile...Is this for tongue-mounted bottles, an access door for an onboard tank, or what???

I don't s'pose you mean the wingnut that squinches down the holding bar on a dual tank TT setup, but just in case, you can buy one of those at this link for .99.
