Electricity in a house can be dangerous also.

Nope, statistically you're wrong. Stupidity is dangerous, poor workmanship, a lack of maintenance, and unsafe handling of any gas system is dangerous, loading a gas grille with a tank attached, in your car, and accidentially turning the regulator on is dangerous. Overall, "that stuff" is pretty darn safe. Lighting a cigarette in that car is called, "culling the herd". Sounds like they tried, and failed to earn, the coveted Darwin award.
Well it can be dangerous though :)
