If you own a trailer with a picture tube TV and a $99.00 microwave, you probably don't want to buy a $300.00 power protection system. Many also camp at the same two or three campgrounds and never have issues (that they know of).
"bid time".....You got beat up for your statement, but I'm guessing that your insurance deductible is around $1000.00 on your RV. That's three times the price of a good EMS unit. You also loose the use of the RV after the incident occurs, especially at the start of a trip.
Everyone has different equipment in their RV's and use their RV's differently. Some go to the same place for 30 years and never have an issue, but if you travel a lot and use many different campgrounds a year, you're being naïve in believing there aren't any power issues.
I've been running a Progressive Industries EMS for over ten years. I've had it shut down numerous times due to low power. I've also had a few campground posts that were wired incorrectly.
Saying that you have been camping for 30 years and never had an issue, is like saying you've been driving for 30 years and never had a crash......... so you might as well cancel your car insurance....who needs it.
