Dutch, I LOVE the way you think! I drive my bride absolutely nuts trying to save money. I am constantly dealing with the cable and satellite guys over their fees, cell phone service,and the never ending insurance rates. Personally, I have saved thousands upon thousands in being proactive in my finances.
Years ago when I was bar hopping, I would always save my quarters when beer was $1.75. I had a water jug just full of quarters. I know I could have saved even more by drinking at home but it just wasn't as much fun.
Just as soon as I get done typing this I am putting a can in the laundry room just as you did.
