I had a friend who used to put his spare change in a 5 gallon water jug. He found that jug sitting in the trash area of a neighbor's house one week (just after it had been stolen from his home), and found out that they had deposited $375 in change that week. So it a way, he did find out how much money was in the jar.
So be careful!

Years ago we too used to buy 4 rolls of quarters on pay day to put into a 5 gallon glass water bottle when they used to make them out of glass. We cashed it in when it was about 1/4 to 1/3 full. We also put only quarters dimes and nickles in it, no pennys. I was surprized to find with it only that full, it had over $400.00 in it. Imagine if it were full, WOW!!! I'm guess'n prolly over $1200. Makes me want to do it again. Anyone know where I can get a glass one?
