Prudence or Paranoia?

I shut off my water to the TT every time we leave. I just don't trust the system to hold, and I certainly don't want to clean up a mess when I return. Is this unwarranted paranoia, or is it prudence? Do you shut your water off?

What other things do you do every time you leave?

  • Uh . . . we do this. Guess we're paranoid too, worse since we turn off the water heater too.
  • When I'm away from the camper during the day, I shut off the water. As a full timer, I've seen unoccupied campers literally flooded due to a break in the plumbing. While relatively uncommon, it's ugly. Only takes a minute to turn off the water when I leave for the day and on when I return.

And I never... never hook-up my fresh water hose before sanitizing the hose bib.:)
  • Never thought about it till you mentioned it, guess now I'll be paranoid too.

Yeah, if I remember I shut off the water. If we're dry camping I shut off the pump and water heater.

Shutting off the water is common practice. Many folks do it. I usually forget as I'm having too much fun.
