pullrite superglide hitch

is anyone using the pull rite superglide hitch in a short bed pickup , such as the F150 5'7" bed length and do you have any problems ?
  • Be aware that there is one specific Superglide for the Fords with the extremely short beds...

It is the 12K, 3100 series model.
  • great idea

You may also consider installing a bed mat. It will fit underneath the hitch rails in the bed. I did that. My mat is about 3/8" thick.

But here's the secret. Do NOT cut holes in the bed mat, where the mount posts come up. Instead, make 3 knife cuts in the mat to form a flap that folds up for each of the mount posts to come thru. Then when you do remove the in bed rails, the flaps fold down over the holes. And you won't see any evidence that there was a ever a hitch installed. Looks like a new bed mat.

  • i will be having 1 installed next week , i also am going with the more expensive so i can use my bed when not in use , i also am having the brackets that raise it an extra 3" .

    thanks for the input
  • I used one for 7 years and it worked great, very durable and trouble free. I got the super rails so when I took the hitch out of the bed I had a flat surface.
  • I have a 16K SuperGlide in my 6.5' Dodge. Works great. One of the best hitches out there but is expensive. Mine was $2400 installed including tax and king pin capture place. I went with the more expensive under bed rails. Makes it easy to remove hitch when bed is needed and not towing. If thats not of concern you can go with the lower cost above bed rails.

The shorter than shortbed Superglide is a 12K hitch. Should be plenty for most anything your truck can pull.
  • I use a 18K unit in a F350 6.75' bed. Works wonderfully well. Very well designed, and built. Many satisfied customers. Great customer service. You get what you pay for. You pay a lot...You get what you pay for.

However, I do not know anything about a model for the VERY SHORT F-150 bed.
