I think Dog Folks is spot on. If "they" build it and "we" buy it, it becomes simple supply and demand. Look what happened in the 80's with the auto industry, they (US builders) couldn't build a car like the Japanese could and we saw a glut of Datsun (Nissan) and Toyotas flood the market. US automakers had to step up their game, they were clearly loosing market share back then. Look at all of the "foreign" automakers we have with assembly and manufacturing plants right here in the good 'ole USA.
Like Dog said, we keep buying it, they'll keep building it.... Kind of like the "BOHICA" mentality Bend Over, Here It Comes Again
